BOARDING

f

EXPERIENCE

To provide a family-like environment where individual boarders are able to grow into responsible, well-rounded, godly and confident young adults.

ICS opened its boarding house for students in grades 6–12 in August 2017. We believe we have created a place that produces globally-minded individuals in an internationally diverse environment that focuses on human relationships and an outstanding education. These crucial elements are mentioned in the educational goals and mission statements, and will be reflected in everything we do for our boarders here at ICS.

Library

The ICS library is the information and research backbone of ICS. The library is responsible for selecting, acquiring, processing, storing and disseminating information resources, both in printed and electronic formats. The main library is situated in a serene and quiet part of ICS, just above the Music and the Arts Studios. The Early Years library is located in the Early Years building. The library has a wide range of fiction and nonfiction books for the reading pleasure of both students and teachers.

The library serves the ICS community and library lessons are planned for students at every grade level. The library organizes book clubs, book fairs, and talk shows asides many other programs. Library lessons are planned in adherence to the library’s enriched curriculum to give the children a wonderful library experience. The library’s collection is usually updated every year in strict adherence to the library’s acquisition policy.

E-Library

ICS also subscribes to the Scholastic Learning Zone. This is an online platform that gives educators and students one-stop access to a growing portfolio of digital education resources

Cafeteria

ICS’s cafeteria serves fresh food and snacks to both students and staff. A team of experienced chefs prepare a wide range of Continental, Asian and local dishes, which always contain fresh and healthy ingredients. For students in our Early Years section, the snacks and lunch are brought to their classes. Our students in Elementary, Junior and High School receive the snacks in their class rooms. During the lunch breaks our students and staff take their meals in the cafeteria.

Our cafeteria also prepares all the food for our boarding house students. They are served a variety of healthy local and Continental dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Information Technology

ICS runs a robust cloud-based school on high-speed fiber internet and a backup radio connection. We prioritize network security for our students at all grade levels.

Laboratories

ICS has three laboratories, the Middle & High school use Lab A majorly for chemistry labs and Lab B for physics labs while either of both Labs A or B for Biology labs as the situation warrants. Additionally, the Elementary School has a lab fully equipped with materials  that meet the requirements for experiments carried out within its grade levels.

Students will have special educational needs of some form during their educational journey. ICS believes that with targeted support and early intervention, most students are able to make significant progress, which enables them to return to regular classes at their grade level.
